Gruppenleitung „Scalable Computing Hardware“ (m/w/d)

Die Aufgaben umfassen:

  • Wissenschaftliche Leitung der Forschungsgruppe „Scalable Computing Hardware“ und Entwicklung von international wettbewerbsfähigen Forschungsthemen
  • Interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit mit Forschungsgruppen am Barkhausen Institut und anderen Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen
  • Drittmittelakquise zum Ausbau der Forschungsgruppe
  • Veröffentlichung von Forschungsergebnissen

Wir erwarten:

  • Überdurchschnittlichen Hochschulabschluss sowie Promotion im Bereich Elektrotechnik oder vergleichbar
  • Hervorragende Kenntnisse mit digitalen Hardwaredesign und Prozessorarchitekturen
  • Erfahrungen mit Hardwarebeschreibungssprachen und hardwarenaher Softwareprogrammierung
  • Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeit (schriftlich und mündlich) in englischer Sprache
  • Eine integrative und kooperative Persönlichkeit mit exzellenten sozialen und kommunikativen Fähigkeiten
  • Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen mit der Beantragung (europäischer) Fördermittel sowie in der Zusammenarbeit mit Industriepartnern sind von Vorteil

Research Associate: Hardware Security (m/f/d)

The group Scalable Computing Hardware is developing a secure and dependable multiprocessor system-on-chip (MPSoC) to establish a hardware platform for applications in the area of the Internet of Things (IoT).

We are looking for a Research Associate for Hardware Security (m/f/d) to creatively pursue our research agenda. Besides sharing your unique ideas, you will work at the hardware implementation and support us at the MPSoC design process.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and development of secure hardware solutions for specific use cases and applications
  • HDL simulation and verification including embedded software programming
  • Support of FPGA prototyping and SoC design projects through tape-out
  • Participation in writing research publications and project deliverables

Your profile:

  • Above-average MSc/Diploma or PhD degree in areas related to our research focus (Electrical/Computer Engineering) from renowned universities
  • Good communication and writing skills in English
  • An integrative and cooperative personality with excellent communication and social skills
  • Good programming skills in C/C++, Python, Verilog/VHDL
  • Knowledge of processor systems and instruction set architectures
  • Work experience with SoC design flow including software tools

Student Assistant (m/f/d) for Wireless Communications Development

The Barkhausen Institute researches the latest communication technologies and demonstrates their application in the society of tomorrow. Student Assistant (m/f/d) for Wireless Communications Development (up to 19 hours/week)

The Project

Within the next 6 months the student will help in the development of a test setup and simulation tools for advanced wireless communications, particularly in Physical-layer security.

Your tasks

  • Writing Python code for a software-radio based (USRP) wireless testbed
  • Writing Python code for computer simulation of wireless communications systems
  • Running test protocols and analyzing measurement results

Your skills

  • Basic knowledge of digital communications and digital signal processing
  • Experience in programming, preferably in Python
