Season’s Greetings and Best Wishes for 2026
The year 2025 brought significant progress in our research, projects, and collaborations. Before we wrap up the year, we want to say thank you to everyone we worked with and everyone who supported our activities.
This year’s milestones include:
- The tape-outs of the digital chip Masur25 featuring a hardware/software codesign approach, and of a new analog chip for high-frequency radio applications are successfully completed.
- The Barkhausen Institut taking the lead in the new Formula-V project, which aims to develop a formally verified system architecture meeting the highest standards of security, privacy, and trustworthiness.
- The BI and Dresden Municipal Libraries receiving the LeLa Award 2025 for their joint program Artificial Intelligence for Children.
- Our Scientific Director Prof. Gerhard Fettweis being honored with the Pioneer Award by the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
- Prof. Elif Kavun takes over as head of the new research group Secure Digital Systems.
- BI researchers earning Best Exhibition Award at the IEEE 6G Summit 2025 for the demonstrators Post Quantum Secure Drone Control and Context-Aware Secret Key Generation based on Physical Layer Security.
- The exhibition “Mensch, Roboter!” opens at the COSMO Science Forum, providing insights into robotics research from Dresden.
