On March 19, 2026, the public event “From Research to Application – How Trustworthy Technologies Are Changing Our Lives” took place in Munich as part of the “Let’s talk” series organized by the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Fettweis, scientific director of the Barkhausen Institut and professor at TU Dresden, provided insights into current developments in trustworthy connected systems, microelectronics, and new mobile communication technologies.

Following the talk, the Connected Robotics Lab and researchers from the Barkhausen Institut, together with TU Dresden and TU Munich, presented visitors with several interactive exhibits on topics including the Internet of Things, autonomous driving, 6G communication, robotics, and the security of connected medical devices.

The event concluded with a panel discussion entitled “Analog or Digital? Why Flexibility Consumes Energy – and How Systems Can Become More Efficient.”
