IEEE CSCN Conference: BI wins the “Best Demo/Poster Award”

On September 16, 2025, Amitha Mayya from the Wireless Connectivity and Sensing research group and Yash Richhariya from the Connected Robotics Lab presented their work “Context-Aware Secret Key Generation Demonstrator based on Physical Layer Security” at the IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking in Bologna, Italy, and showcased the corresponding Physical Layer Security Demonstrator.

With the Physical Layer Security demonstrator (part of the Hexa-X-II project), the audience could interactively experience how context-aware keys can be generated directly from the wireless channel. By moving antennas or changing the environment, participants could actively influence the process. Each step was clearly explained, and the resulting key was visualized live.

In a selection process among 22 international research demos and posters, a jury of experts chose the Physical Layer Security Demonstrator as the winning entry and honored it with the Best Demo/Poster Award. We congratulate everyone involved on this remarkable achievement.

The IEEE CSCN connects researchers, industry, and standardization bodies to foster exchange and advance the development of new standards. It serves as a platform for discussions and presentations on communications and networking topics. Standards ensure the interoperability of global communication systems and are therefore crucial for the industry’s success.
