Engaged in Dialogue: BI at Numerous Conferences in the First Half of 2025
Conferences provide our researchers with a platform to share their work with a global expert audience. By presenting their own projects and results, our scientists receive valuable feedback and gain opportunities for professional exchange. In the first half of 2025, our researchers were once again active at numerous conferences.
Two examples of the international activities of Barkhausen Institut in early 2025 include the EuCNC & 6G Summit and the SAMOS Conference.

European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC) & 6G Summit
At the EuCNC & 6G Summit in Poznań, Poland, from June 3–6, 2025, Dr. Shahanawaz Kamal from the research group RF Design Enablement presented the paper “Novel on-Wafer mmWave MIMO Antenna for JCAS of CT Scanners and Ring Resonator for Assessing Polyimide Properties at 60 GHz”. In the publication, an on-wafer antenna for joint communication and sensing (ISAC) applications in CT scanners operating in the 60 GHz frequency band was designed and analyzed.
Additionally, Dr.-Ing. Mehrab Ramzan, also a senior researcher at the BI, presented the paper “Indoor ISAC Demonstrator with Aperture Coupled Antennas (ACA) at Wi-Fi Band for 6G Applications”. The work shows co-located single-element ACAs operating in the Wi-Fi band with a constant gain of 8 dBi. They are integrated with software-defined radio (SDR) to demonstrate their potential for indoor Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) applications.
Also on site was BI researcher and head of the research group Composable Operating Systems, Dr. Michael Roitzsch, at the COREnext project booth. There, he presented the interactive demonstrator of our M³ platform, showcased as a Tic-Tac-Toe game. M³ is an operating system in which individual components are modularized and isolated to prevent potential attacks and to limit damage in the event of a failure.
The EuCNC & 6G Summit is an international conference on current and future telecommunications technologies, ranging from 5G and mobile IoT to 6G. It brings together leading research and industry, attracting over 1,000 participants from more than 40 countries each year, and features a large exhibition with over 50 exhibitors showcasing new technologies.

25th International Conference on Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, Modeling and Simulation (SAMOS)
At SAMOS'25 in Greece, from June 28 to July 3, 2025, researcher Shekoufeh Neisarian from our new research group Secure Digital Systems presented the paper “MT-TMVP: Modular Tiled TMVP-based Polynomial Multiplication for Post-Quantum Cryptography on FPGAs”. The paper explores the challenges of implementing post-quantum cryptographic algorithms on resource-constrained hardware. It introduces MT-TMVP (Modular Tiled Toeplitz Matrix-Vector Polynomial Multiplication), a new and efficient method to optimize compute-intensive lattice-based cryptography, a promising approach for protection against quantum attacks.
SAMOS is an annual conference focused on embedded systems, bringing together researchers from both academia and industry. The event features in-depth technical sessions as well as opportunities for informal exchange and networking.
