6G Platform: Science Communication as a Bridge Between Research and Society
Within the 6G Platform project 6G Platform project, a special responsibility of the Barkhausen Institut is now coming to a close: In addition to research on trustworthy systems, the BI was in charge of science communication. The goal was to make complex 6G research accessible and to foster dialogue with the public.
A wide range of formats emerged – from explanatory videos on YouTube to workshops for school students, all the way to an exhibit on the energy consumption of mobile communications. This exhibit was first shown aboard the MS Wissenschaft and will be on display starting in October at the COSMO Science Forum as part of the exhibition Mensch, Roboter! – Robotics from Dresden science.
The project was also present at the 6G Conference in Berlin, complemented by expert talks, including contributions from the Federal Office for Radiation Protection and the 6G4Society project.
