BI speaking at IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference
Barkhausen Institut executives are speaking at this year's WCNC. The conference connects professionals worldwide from the wireless research, technology, and industry sectors. It convenes in Austin, Texas from 10-13 April 2022.
As one of the keynote speakers, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Fettweis will provide an insight into "The 6G Radio Access Gearbox PHY Idea". He defines radio communication and sensing of the environment as the foundations of future 6G technology. To address the massive growth in data volumes and increased energy consumption associated with it, Prof. Dr. Fettweis will present the use of the Gearbox PHY as a possible solution.
Dr. Tim Hentschel will participate in a panel on "On the importance of real-world testbeds in proving out the technical concepts behind 6G". He explains, "We at the BI have a clear opinion on the importance of real-world testbeds for proving out technical concepts and research results. They are a very important part of the toolbox of a communications researcher. I am looking forward to hearing from the other panelists as to what they think of the benefits of such testbeds and the effort that is involved in setting them up and running them."
WCNC offers a comprehensive program for participants from a variety of industries. Discussions, panels, workshops, and an exhibition will provide an opportunity to discuss the latest trends and most promising ideas.
