Open day at the Kulturpalast Dresden

On 29 April 2023 at the open day at the Kulturpalast, the COSMO Science Forum was also open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm. In addition to the exhibition on the topic of “Sustainability,” there was the opportunity to learn how to program in a playful way at the “Code & Play” coding station and to engage in direct dialogue with scientists on site.
In collaboration with gardeners from Staatliche Schlösser, Burgen und Gärten Sachsen gGmbH, the Barkhausen Institut developed a watering robot as part of the “Climate change in historical gardens” project, which is designed to make work in large parks easier. The prototype of this robot did its rounds on the square in front of the Kulturpalast from 2 pm on this day.
COSMO and the Barkhausen Institut welcomed a total of around 800 people interested in science on this day.
A few days later, visitors and passers-by also had the opportunity to see the robot in action. On May 5, it once again made its rounds on the forecourt of the Kulturpalast and delighted all those present.
