Closing event of the “Jugend forscht” competition



On 2 March 2020, the Barkhausen Institut took part in the closing event of the renowned “Jugend forscht - Schüler experimentieren” competition at the Dresden Plauen High School. “Jugend forscht” is Germany’s best-known youth development competition encourages and seeks to inspire young people to become involved in STEM.
In addition to the work of the participants in the competition and projects by other pupils, scientific institutions and companies provided insights into current research topics on this day. A total of around 80 people took part in the event.
The BI offered the interactive workshop “Code & Play” on this occasion. Here, children and young people were able to try their hand at programming and control a robot arm. Antonio Rehwinkel also reported on his voluntary year in the natural sciences (FJN) at BI. He spoke about his own experiences with “Jugend forscht” and how he went on from there.
