A look inside: try out and understand endoscopy
On 7 November 2024, the COSMO Science Forum offered the hands-on activity “A look inside” on the occasion of Gastrointestinal Day, which was a highlight of the exhibition “Dr. Zukunft - Medical technology from Dresden Science”.
55 visitors tried out gastroscopies and colonoscopies on simulators under the guidance of the physician Dr. Franz Brinkmann, who explained the procedure and the importance of colonoscopy for the early detection of cancer.
The event was part of the project “Talk about Endoscopy!” , funded by the Volkswagen Foundation, which presented the research of the NGScopes working group on the development of innovative tools for laparoscopic surgery.
