Prof. Dr. Florian Tschorsch

BI Research Fellow

BI Research Fellows are renowned professors who support the research mission and vision of the BI. They collaborate with the individual research groups of the BI, provide strategic recommendations, and act as ambassadors of the BI research mission.

Florian Tschorsch is a Professor of Computer Science at TU Dresden, where he leads the Chair of Privacy and Security, conducting privacy and security research for a connected society. His work focuses on secure, privacy-preserving, and distributed systems and communication protocols, with a particular interest in design trade-offs induced by application-specific constraints. His work spans resilient and decentralized system architectures, privacy-preserving data analytics and telemetry, and secure and anonymous communication. 

His contributions have been recognized with awards from GDD, the U.S. NRL, and the GI KuVS. He has been named a Pioneer by the World Frontiers Forum (WFF) and has served as a Fellow at the Berlin Centre for Consumer Policies (BCCP) and as an Einstein Professor at the Einstein Center for Digital Future (ECDF).
