Barkhausen Institut

Final presentation "5G Lab Germany - Forschungsfeld Lausitz"

Final presentation on the premises of the Fraunhofer IVI

On December 13, 2022, the Barkhausen Institut, together with the project partners of the 5G Lab Germany, TU Dresden, Fraunhofer IVI and the company Meshmerize, will present the research results of the project ”5G Lab Germany – Forschungsfeld Lausitz” (Research field Lusatia region).

The results of the past three years of research work on teleoperated and automated driving as well as flying via 5G campus network will be shown on the Fraunhofer IVI's test oval. The focus is on automated-assisted driving using suitable sensor technology in the infrastructure as part of pre-tests.

The driving function is controlled via a 5G campus network and an integrated local edge cloud. Under real conditions, vehicles are assisted and teleoperated with the help of infrastructure-based environment detection, while the data required for this is transmitted in real time via 5G to the edge cloud and processed there. A live demonstration will show the solutions developed for more safety and real-time data transmission.

At the closing event, participants will be able to talk to the scientists about their work by attending lectures, discussions and live demonstrations.
