Explore Research at Dresden Science Night 2025

On June 20, 2025, Dresden’s research institutions invite the public for an evening full of science and discovery. The Barkhausen Institut is taking part once again - with an interactive program at COSMO Science Forum and an expert talk at TU Dresden.

Interactive Program at COSMO Science Forum

Together with TU Dresden and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, the Barkhausen Institut is co-hosting a diverse lineup at the COSMO Science Forum in the Kulturpalast Dresden. Join us for hands-on workshops, robotics, VR demos, and more between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.!

Please find the full schedule at the official COSMO website.

Talk: “Big Data, Cloud, AI – What Does It All Mean?”

One of the evening’s highlights: Dr. Ing. Michael Roitzsch, researcher and head of the Composable Operating Systems group at the Barkhausen Institut, will give an accessible talk exploring some of tech’s most-used buzzwords.

From artificial intelligence to cloud computing and big data, this talk breaks down what’s behind the hype - and shows how these concepts are changing our lives, even though it all boils down to computers.

Location: TU Dresden, Faculty of Computer Science, Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau
Time: 9:00–9:45 p.m.
